Founded in 1999, NVISION Newport Beach (formerly TLC Newport Beach) is led by Tom Tooma, M.D., the founder and medical director of NVISION Laser Eye Centers. He has performed more than 100,000 LASIK procedures. Dan Tran, M.D., provides specialty cataract consulting and Intraocular Lens surgeries. He has performed more than 50,000 procedures.
NVISION Newport Beach is the flagship location for all of the NVISION Laser Eye Centers and boasts the largest facility with the most laser equipment. Its open-access policy allows outside ophthalmologists to perform surgeries in its surgery center. NVISION Newport Beach also coordinates with major pharmaceutical companies, including Alcon and Allergan, on clinical trials. It has recently completed trials in various areas of refractive surgery, including inlay technologies and dry eye issues. Dr. Tom Tooma
Dr. Tooma has performed more than 100,000 LASIK procedures and believes that laser vision correction at NVISION is as safe as it can be. In fact, he has performed LASIK surgery on hundreds of doctors, including 250 eye doctors. He believes that the combination of experience and technology gives NVISION patients the highest possible likelihood of achieving 20/20 or better vision through LASIK procedures.

Dr. Dan Tran
Dr Tran accomplished many firsts, including: first surgeon in the world to use Orange Wavefront Aberromerty technology to optimize outcomes for cataract surgery; the first surgeon in the United States to pioneer the IntraLase laser in conjunction with Intacs™NTACS for treatment of Keratoconus; and was one of the first surgeons in the United States to perform cataract surgery using multifocal intraocular lens implants (which reduces the need for reading glasses).

Dr. Franklin Lusby

Dr. Chen received her D.O. degree from the University of California, Berkeley and her BS in Biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego. She has participated in several clinical studies and is currently a sub-clinical investigator of an FDA clinical trial to reduce or even eliminate the need for reading glasses. She has more than 10 years of experience and has been with NVISION Newport Beach since 2006.
