Experience the Freedom and Flexibility of the EVO ICL™
Life is all about the details, and we want you to enjoy every single one. EVO ICL (EVO) is made for people who want to experience life without the hassle of glasses or contacts.
An ICL, also called an Implantable Collamer® Lens, is a refractive implant to correct myopia (nearsightedness) and astigmatism. This clear lens is surgically implanted through a microscopic opening in the cornea to sit in front of the eye’s natural lens, behind the iris (pupil). Unlike a contact lens on the eye, this lens is implanted permanently in the eye.
Unlike some other vision correction options, EVO is an additive technology that corrects vision without the removal of any corneal tissue. EVO is meant to reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contacts and unlike most permanent refractive solutions, EVO is removable.
More than 2 million EVO ICLs have been implanted in the world.

EVO ICL Procedure | What to Expect
EVO is made of biocompatible Collamer material that works in harmony with your eye. ICLs have been implanted in eyes for more than 20 years. Your eye doctor will create a small opening in your cornea that will be used to insert and position the EVO lens behind the pupil. The procedure is typically painless with numbing eye drops and it typically takes less than 10 minutes. You can experience improved vision right away and a quick recovery time.
How EVO ICL Procedure Works
1. A Small Opening is Made in the Cornea
2. The Lens is Positioned into Place
3. Vision is Improved Right Away

About Nearsightedness
Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, is a common type of refractive error where near objects appear clearly, but far objects appear blurry. This happens when the eyeball is too long or the cornea has too much curvature, causing light to focus in front of the retina instead of directly on it.
About Astigmatism
Astigmatism causes your vision to be blurred at both near and far distances. It occurs when your cornea is shaped more like a football than a basketball.
Key features of astigmatism include:
- Blurred or Distorted Vision: Individuals with astigmatism often experience blurred or distorted vision at both near and far distances.
- Eye Strain and Discomfort: Astigmatism can lead to eye strain, headaches, and discomfort, especially after prolonged periods of reading or computer use.
- Difficulty with Night Vision: Some people with astigmatism may notice challenges with night vision, including glare and halos around lights.
- Combination with Other Refractive Errors: Astigmatism can occur on its own or in combination with nearsightedness or farsightedness.
EVO ICL™ Frequently Asked Questions
How do EVO ICL™s work?
Unlike contact lenses that are worn on the eye, the EVO ICL™ is inserted in the eye utilizing the same type of optics as a contact lens.
The EVO lens can remain in the eye for a lifetime. The advantage of EVO is that it is additive technology so if for any reason we want to remove it, it can be removed, unlike all other laser vision correction procedures that are not reversible.
Is EVO ICL™ right for me?
Ideal candidates for EVO are people between the age of 21 to 45 with nearsightedness, or nearsightedness and astigmatism who have maintained a stable prescription for at least one year. EVO is not an option for patients who are pregnant, nursing, or those with a history of eye disease. It is ideal for people who are not candidates for LASIK, PRK, or SMILE. If you are seeking a solution to decrease or eliminate the cost or frustration of traditional contacts or glasses, EVO may be your answer. Contact your eye doctor to discuss if EVO ICL™ is right for you.
How soon can I see results?
Visual recovery with implantable contact lenses is rapid, and you can anticipate noticeable improvement within a day or two.
How much do EVO ICL™s cost?
The cost of the EVO procedure can vary depending on your personalized treatment plan. Many EVO patients look forward to spending less in the long run with the EVO ICL compared to the continued costs of contacts and glasses. Ask your eye doctor about financing options and payment plans that may be available for your EVO procedure.
