Dr. Eric W. Johnston, M.D., is a highly skilled board-certified ophthalmologist with two decades of experience specializing in cornea and refractive surgery. With a track record of over 10,000 intraocular and refractive laser surgeries, Dr. Johnston’s expertise encompasses LASIK, dry eye, corneal transplantation, surgical correction of astigmatism, and cataract surgery with multifocal lenses. He completed his medical education at Wayne State University School of Medicine, followed by residency training in Ophthalmology at Case Western Reserve University and a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern. Dr. Johnston is not only dedicated to his surgical practice but also to humanitarian efforts, leading cataract missions to countries like Mexico, Guatemala, Panama, and Honduras to provide essential eye care to those in need. He is an active member of professional organizations such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and he has presented and published articles at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. In his leisure time, Dr. Johnston enjoys various hobbies, including automobile restoration, playing the tenor saxophone, beach volleyball, tennis, biking, and cherishing moments with his family.
