NVISION Now Has 10 Locations Throughout California
Newport Beach, Calif., May 25, 2011– Dr. Thomas Tooma, Medical Director of NVISION Laser Eye Centers, announced today that NVISION has opened a Center in San Luis Obispo — its tenth location in California.
“At NVISION San Luis Obispo, we will be providing a variety of eye-related procedures to treat diabetic eye disease, trauma, retinal detachments, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and cataract, as well as LASIK eye surgery, “said Tooma. “We are thrilled that Retina Specialists of the Central Coast eye surgeons, Dr. Derek Lauritzen and Dr. Steven Johnson, will be joining forces with NVISION’s Dr. John Davidson to continue to serve the community of San Luis Obispo.”
Dr. Derek Lauritzen is a specialist in the treatment of diseases of the retina, vitreous and macula. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has delivered dozens of presentations for respected medical organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, German Retina Society, and the University of Utah. Devoted to helping people with their vision problems, he is the co-founder and president of the Global Foundation for the Prevention of Blindness.
Dr. Steven Johnson is a specialist in the treatment of retina and cataracts. Board certified since 1985, Dr. Johnson is a member of many respected medical organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Western Retina Study Group, Surgical Eye Expeditions International and the California Association of Ophthalmology. He is also collaborating with Cal Poly University engineering students and professors to design mobile eye clinics for Latin America and California.
Dr. John Davidson is Assistant Clinical Professor at the Julies Stein Eye Institute at UCLA and the lead LASIK surgeon at the San Luis Obispo location, as well as being the recipient of many prestigious awards. He has been named one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists by the Guide to America’s Top Ophthalmologists in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. He was also named Ventura County’s Best LASIK Surgeon of 2009 by Ventura County Reporter magazine.
